‘The Boys’ Season 5 Is Having a ‘Supernatural’ Reunion

The final season of The Boys will feature a team-up that will warm the heart of many a 2000s or 2010s CW viewer.

Supernatural stars Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins are reuniting with their erstwhile co-star, Jensen Ackles — as well as series creator and The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke — on the Prime Video series. Padalecki and Collins will each have guest roles in season five, details of which are being kept quiet for now. The Amazon-owned streamer did note, however, that the trio will share scenes.

There’s no word on whether a 1967 Chevrolet Impala will also be involved.

Kripke said last year that The Boys would end with its fifth season, in keeping with his original plan for the series. “The show is a serialized story that is about Butcher and Homelander slowly crashing into each other, and the show doesn’t work without either of those,” he told The Hollywood Reporter. “So, you just can’t keep that going on forever, you have to let them smash into each other.”

Ackles plays Solider Boy in The Boys and is set to star in a prequel series called Vought Rising alongside Aya Cash.

Following Supernatural, Padalecki starred in The CW’s Walker for four seasons and is currently developing a CBS medical drama with Walker showrunner Anna Fricke. He is repped by UTA, Industry Entertainment, Shelter PR, and Fuller Law.

Collins’ recent credits include The CW’s Gotham Knights and Amazon’s feature film Encounter.
