A woman has a surprise in store for the best friend who killed her in the new feature Dead Dawn.
Aaron Jay Rome is directing the supernatural thriller movie that is currently in production in Louisiana. Leading the indie film‘s cast are Malcolm Goodwin (Reacher), Ashley Lenz (Go Crazy Go Mad), Olivia Grace Applegate (Love & Death), David Anders (The Vampire Diaries) and Krishna Smitha (Silicon Valley).
Blending elements of horror and comedy, Dead Dawn focuses on Anna-Beth (Lenz), a single mom who accidentally kills her close friend and resorts to hiding the body. The decomposing spirit soon haunts Anna-Beth and becomes her conscience as authorities begin to investigate the incident.
Rounding out the cast are Ashley Armstrong, Isaiah LaBorde and Grace Donaghe.
Hailing from Allaborde Entertainment and Team Vision Entertainment, Dead Dawn counts Rome, Patrick Rowell and Calvin Ursin Jr. as producers. Rome helms the project from a script that he co-wrote with LaBorde.
Rome is concurrently directing the feature Silt, which has a story from Vernon Davis and Tiffany Toney. The film is shooting in Louisiana as well.
The director is also an actor who had a recurring role on the Max limited series Love & Death that launched in April 2023. The series starred Elizabeth Olsen, Jesse Plemons, Lily Rabe, Patrick Fugit and Krysten Ritter, with Plemons earning an Emmy nomination for his performance.
Goodwin played Oscar Finlay on the first two seasons of Prime Video series Reacher opposite Alan Ritchson. His other television credits include Law & Order: Organized Crime, The Fall of the House of Usher, The Fugitive, iZombie and Breakout Kings.
