Alan Cumming to Host BAFTA Television Awards

Alan Cumming will host the 2025 BAFTA Television Awards with P&O Cruises on Sunday, May 11 at the Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall in London, the British Academy said Monday.

The actor, writer, producer and TV host is “renowned for his celebrated career in the arts, spanning television, film, and theater,” BAFTA said. “From his Tony and Olivier Award-winning performance in Cabaret, to his memorable performance in The Good Wife — for which he won a Golden Globe for best supporting actor, as well as an Emmy for his work as an executive producer — Cumming is recognized for his versatility both on-screen and behind the scenes. More recently, his signature charm has captivated TV audiences worldwide as host of The Traitors U.S., for which he has won two Emmys and two Critics Choice Awards.”

The BAFTA TV Awards ceremony will air in Britain on BBC One and streamer iPlayer. The awards will also be available on BritBox in all of its regions, namely the U.S., Canada, Australia and the Nordics. It will further be available in Australia on Foxtel and 24 countries across Africa and the Middle East on AlThaqafeya and MBC Channels, as well as 13 countries across Asia on Rewind Networks.

Nominations for the TV BAFTAs will be unveiled this Thursday. P&O Cruises is the headline sponsor for the BAFTA Television Awards for the third year running.

Last year’s  BAFTA Television Awards ceremony, during which Top Boy and Happy Valley won two major honors each, delivered an average audience of 2.7 million on BBC One and iPlayer.
