Edward Enninful is making moves.
The well-connected fashion insider has announced a new venture a year after exiting his post as editor-in-chief of British Vogue and that exclamation point of a final cover. Enninful has teamed with his sister, Akua Enninful, to launch a global media and entertainment company they’re calling EE72. The new firm aims to “develop and produce transformational content, immersive experiences and innovative products” through “strategic partnerships with visionary creators and groundbreaking companies.” Edward will serve as co-founder and chief creative officer while Akua assumes the position of co-founder and CEO.
“EE72 represents a natural progression of the foundation I’ve built my career on,” Enninful said in a statement. “We’re creating a space where creativity transcends boundaries, where diverse voices don’t just exist — they lead. Our mission is to reshape how we see and understand each other, building bridges across cultures and communities.”
He added additional details about the launch in an Instagram Reel posted on Monday.
“I started my career believing in the power of storytelling and how storytelling could change the world we live in,” he explained before citing the notches on his resumé. “And with EE72, we’re honing that vision even more. From i-D to Italian Vogue, Japanese Vogue, American Vogue, W and British Vogue, all this has led to this moment to creating this platform that is to connect people through creativity. Now is the right time to launch the platform in such a divided world. I feel like it’s time that we all come together, work together, create together and really show a new way forward. At EE72, we’ll be creating content and experiences that bring people together.”
He didn’t elaborate on the kinds of content and experiences but expect to learn more in the coming days as he teased, “This is just the beginning.”
Enninful became a fashion wunderkind when he broke into publishing as fashion director of i-D magazine at 18, a position he held for the better part of two decades. His resume also includes stints as a contributing fashion editor at Vogue Italia and Vogue, and a run as creative fashion director at W. His tenure at British Vogue lasted from 2017 through his final issue, the A-list packed March 2024 issue that hit newsstands in February 2024. He also served as global creative and cultural advisor of Vogue under Anna Wintour.
