‘Materialists’ With Dakota Johnson, Pedro Pascal Sets June Release

The next movie from Past Lives director Celine Song, starring Dakota Johnson, Chris Evans and Pedro Pascal, is set for a Jun. 13 release.

A24 confirmed the premiere date for Materialists on X Tuesday. “Save the date. Celine Song’s MATERIALISTS 6.13.2025,” the post said, with a photo of a heart-shaped Materialists cake.

The romantic comedy is about a young matchmaker in New York City (Johnson), torn between her perfect match and an imperfect ex. The ensemble cast includes Zoe Winters, Marin Ireland, Succession‘s Dasha Nekrasova and Louisa Jacobson.

Principal photography on Materialists began April 29, 2024, in New York and wrapped the following June. Killer Films’ Christine Vachon and Pamela Koffler are producers, as well as David Hinojosa of 2AM.

Song’s Past Lives, also released by A24 and starring Greta Lee and Teo Yoo, debuted to critical acclaim in 2023, getting two Oscar nods including best picture.

“I didn’t know I knew how to make a movie until I was doing it,” said Song, The Hollywood Reporter’s Young Filmmaker of the Year, in a 2023 interview. “And then once I was doing it, I was like, ‘Oh my God, I’m going to do this until I die.’”

Johnson, who was last on our screens in Sony’s Madame Web will unite with Avengers star Evans and Gladiator II‘s Pascal.
