Scott Eastwood has been added to the cast of Paramount Pictures’ feature adaptation of the Colleen Hoover novel Regretting You.
Hitting theaters Oct. 24, Regretting You stars Eastwood alongside previously announced castmembers Allison Williams, Dave Franco, Mckenna Grace, Mason Thames and Willa Fitzgerald. Josh Boone (The Fault in Our Stars) helms the film from a script he wrote that is based on a previous draft by Susan McMartin (After).
Regretting You centers on the aftermath of a tragic car accident that claims the lives of two family members and leads to an exploration of past secrets and regrets.
The project is based on Hoover’s best-selling 2019 novel and hails from Constantin Film, with the producers including Robert Kulzer, Brunson Green, Anna Todd and Flavia Viotti. Serving as executive producers are Hoover, Williams, Franco and Grace.
Eastwood’s previous features include I Want You Back, 1992, Fast X, Wrath of Man and Pacific Rim: Uprising. He is set to appear in such forthcoming films as Lucky Strike and Stolen Girl.
The first Hoover novel to hit the big screen was It Ends With Us, with the Sony movie premiering in August and surpassing $350 million at the global box office. The project has been at the center of controversy amid the ongoing legal battle between lead Blake Lively and director and co-star Justin Baldoni.
Also on the horizon is Amazon MGM Studio’s film adaptation of Hoover’s novel Verity from director Michael Showalter that stars Anne Hathaway.
Eastwood is represented by UTA, LBI Entertainment, Viewpoint and Goodman Genow.
